The fourth volume consists of 36 compositions for advanced players who have sufficiently mastered the fundamentals of guitar playing. 28 of the pieces are for solo guitar, 8 are duets.
They call for a higher degree of technical accomplishment than those of Vol. 3. 'Easy pieces for two guitars'. The compositions are longer and harmonically more developed. Choices are to be made as to the apoyando and tirando techniques in performance and the right hand finger nails have to be brought into play.
The character and mood of each piece is given below its title, but the actual performance depends on the player who is free to express his or her own feelings.
